PEMBUATAN KOMPOSIT HYBRID UNTUK EXHAUST COVER MOTOR HONDA BEAT DENGAN METODE VACUUM INFUSION
Abstract
This research discusses the process of manufacturing exhaust on Honda Beat motorcycle by using hybrid composite from natural fiber (ramie or bohemia) and synthetic fiber (glass fiber). The method used is product is the Vacuum Infusion with side flow pattern.
The purpose of this research is to make the exhaust cover lightweight product which and high strength the matrix used is unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) by Justus Kimia Raya. Mechanical proportis had been done by tensile test ASTM D638 and impact charpy test ASTM D5942
The result of tensile test is 139.46 Mpa, and impact test obtained value of 0.0527 J / mm2. In addition, the hybrid composite product were light the good properties and more resilient than cover anothen cover.
