DINAMIKA DAN FORMAT MEDIA KOOPERASI LITERASI.CO
Abstract
This research will narrative how the format and dynamics of Literasi.co co-operative media as an alternative to media conglomeration, which by its very nature has created the condition of mass media increasingly impartial to the readers and prefer the production of profit-seeking content, and the interests of capital owners. The concept of a co-operative media promoted by Literacy.co is seen as a response to the conglomerate's conglomeration, with a system of collective ownership, more democratic decision-making (one person one vote), protection of its workers, and consumer engagement as a news producer.
This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The methodology uses case studies that aim to examine, describe, and explain comprehensively the various aspects of individuals, groups, organizations, or events systematically. These data will then be analyzed using media management theory to look at the managerial practices of the cooperative media itself, and also use the perspective of alternative media to give a clearer picture of the position of the cooperative media as an alternative to media conglomeration.
The results of this study conclude that the Literasi.co co-operative media since its inception consciously made a distinction between itself and the media of the conglomerate as the subject of his criticism. The differences include issues raised in the media, how to fund the media, and how to make decisions. All these differences are derivatives of the principle of cooperation which became the main guide of the media to become an alternative to the media of the conglomerate.
