SISTEM PEMANEN ENERGI MENGGUNAKAN MODUL LTC3588 PADA IMPLEMENTASI PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK BERBASIS PIEZOELEKTRIK DI TANGGA BANGUNAN
Abstract
Research and innovation in the development of renewable energy utilization continues growing. One potential of renewable energy that can be uses is human energy. Activities like walking up and down the stair, humans certainly release an energy. The released energy can be converted to electrical energy. An innovation using piezoelectric technology, converting mechanical energy of the footrest into electrical energy. An energy harvesting system is required to stabilize the impulse output of piezoelectric. The LTC3588 module is electronic device that can be used as harvester of electrical energy using piezoelectric. LTC3588 has 2 versions with maximum voltage respectively is 3.6 Volt and 5 Volt. With 15 piezoelectric elements paralleled, charging 10uF of capacitor requires 11 steps whereas a 100uF of capacitor requires 90 steps or 10 times more than 10uF capacitor to reaches a maximum voltage 3.6 V. If an LED is added, the maximum voltage becomes 2.3 Volts and LED is on. Capacity of the capacitor affects the amount of footing that must be provided and the duration of the LED can be turned on and back to off. For testing LTC3588-2 which has been made, it has characteristics 13.58 Volts of output voltage and 1.52 mA of current or exceed the specification. The test to charge AA battery with capacity 2600mAh and packed in series of 2 pieces, requires 20 times of footing each simulator panel. Meanwhile, if the series of 4 pieces requires 40 times the footing of each panel of staircase simulator electric power generator where each panel contains paralleled of 40 piezoelectric. Battery charging is affected by the amount of piezoelectric used, the amount of footing provided, the weight value (load) provided and the capacity of the battery used.
