HUBUNGAN PERSEPSI DAN SIKAP REMAJA TERHADAP PERILAKU MEROKOK REMAJA DI SMA MUHAMMADIYAH KASIHAN BANTUL
Abstract
Background: Adolescence is a transitional or transitional period between children and adults who experience changes in biological, cognitive and socio-emotional so that a teenager tends to try new things in search of identity. Adolescence is often associated with bad things including association of smoking behavior where the perception and attitude of adolescents is one of the factors that determine a person to behave smoking.
Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions and attitudes of adolescents to the behavior of adolescent smoking in SMA Muhammadiyah Kasihan Bantul.
Method: The design of this research is descriptive correlation with cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this study were 59 respondents. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The research instrument used perceptual questionnaires, attitudes and behaviors. The data analysis used is Pearson data analysis.
Results: Most of the respondents had positive perceptions of 94.9% positive attitude of 89.9%, and most respondents never behaved for smoking by 62.7%. The result of statistical analysis showed a significant correlation between adolescent perception toward adolescence smoking behavior (p value = 0.0001) with medium correlation strength (r = 0,557) and negative correlation direction. Adolescent attitudes toward adolescence smoking behavior showed a significant correlation between adolescent attitude toward adolescent smoking behavior (p value = 0.0001) with medium correlation strength (r = 0,599) and negative correlation direction.
Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between adolescent perception and attitude toward adolescent smoking behavior in Muhammadiyah SMA Kasihan Bantul.
