dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, several teacher think that education in formal institutions is becoming more important for their children. In reality, parents should be involved in the academic process of their children, such as giving them motivation and appreciation. However, some people argue that motivation that are given by parents to children is only for parents who have a high level of educational background. Meanwhile, in other cases, parents from low level of education have a pessimistic view that they cannot to motivate their children. The researcher is using the quantitative method students ELED 2012. The correlation by Pearson Product Moment shows that the number of correlation is -0,101. It means that there was a correlation in this research but the correlation is reverse. It proves that there is a reverse correlation between both variables before. The meaning of reverse correlation is that the students were able to motivate themselves to reach it. The highest educational background form their parents do not really influence their motivation to study. Even the students from the lowest parent’s educational level were able to study seriously during classes. It is probable that some of the parents have given their children positive words and special strategy when all the people were not aware, including the researcher. According to Bettleheim (1987), if parents have a positive correlation with their children, it will influence their children to think positively in every day life, even when they studied at school. | en_US |
