APLIKASI KOMPOSI HYBRID SERAT ANYAM RAMI DAN ANYAM ACAK GELAS UNTUK PEMBUATAN HELM SEPEDA DENGAN METODE VACUUM INFUSION
Abstract
This research uses natural fiber (hemp) and synthetic fiber (glass fiber).
This bicycle helmet product was manufactured with used one layer of woven hemp
fiber and one layer of random glass fiber and it is called hybrid composite. This
helmet product uses vacuum infusion method. The product produced by this
vacuum method has excellent porosity compared with handlay up and press mold
method. The result of tensile strength test from radical fiber was 76,58 Mpa and
modulus elasticity 12,71 GPa. Hybrid natural fiber composite is very feasible in
the manufacture of bicycle helmet products because it exceeds the SNI standard of
38 Mpa. In the future this composite will be applied in the manufacture of
motorcycle helmet products.
