GAMBARAN TINGKAT KEPUASAN PASIEN DALAM PELAKSANAAN KOMUNIKASI TERAPEUTIK MAHASISWA PROFESI PSPDG UMY DI RSGM UMY
Abstract
Background: Therapeutic communication is a doctor-patient communication that able to help gather patient’s information for anamnesa purpose. Therapeutic communication is one of the factors that influence patient’s satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is one of the benchmarks for assessing hospital performance. Thus, this study is meant to find out patient’s satisfaction level in therapeutic communication by clinical dental student at RSGM UMY.
Research Objectives: The Aim of this study is to determine the description of patient’s satisfaction level in the implementation of therapeutic communication by clinical dental student at RSGM UMY.
Research Method: This is a descriptive observational study with cross-sectional design. The subject chosen for this research were patients who came to RSGM UMY to perform a dental treatment operated by clinical year student. There were 107 patients as respondents. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire of patient’s satisfaction level in terapeutic communication by Kalamazoo Consensus Statement.
Results: The results shows that the average score of patient’s satisfaction towards therapeutic communication by clinical dental student at RSGM UMY based on gender, based on occupation, based on ethnic origin, and based on education status is 75.6 (satisfied category). Questionnaire used in this study consist of seven dimensions (establishes rapport, open discussion, gathers information, understand patient’s perspective of illness, shares information, reaches aggrement on problems and plans, and provide closure) with Overall average score is 85% which is classified as satisfied category.
Conclusion: Patients were mostly satisfied with the therapeutic communication.
