The number of TV shows has shown violent scenes, pornography, mystics, alternative medicine, which are not educated. It is obvious when the television and radio stations showed low awareness of producing a qualified broadcast programs. Therefore, the role of Local Indonesian Broadcasting Commissio (KPID) n in supervising the existing television and radio programs is very important for developing a good broadcasting to the public. Consequently, broadcasters must be responsible for preserving the social, cultural and moral values that exist in the Indonesian community. This research uses qualitative method with observation, interview and documentation. The purpose of this research is: (1) to know how the alternative medicine tv program being broadcasted in ADI TV (2) to know the role of the local broadcasting commission of Indonesia at Yogyakarta in regulating the alternative medicine tv program broadcasted in ADI TV based on the broadcast law in monitoring TV broadcasts in Yogyakarta. The method of thisresearch with field research is a research that examines and analyses te data to the existing data in a field, field observation to observe directly, in addition to this research also uses the technique of collecting data with observation, in dept interviews, and documentation. The result of this study shows that the role of KPID DIY as a governmental institution is to support the community, to canalised public’s desires and represent the interests of the community. KPID also disciplined the broadcaster and ensure that the public receives adequate information
