PENGARUH VARIASI SUDUT ORIENTASI KONDENSOR (0o, 15o, 30o) PADA PIROLISATOR SAMPAH PLASTIK LDPE DENGAN DEBIT AIR PENDINGIN KONDENSOR 12 LPM
Abstract
The quantity of plastics in the world is growing every day, in addition to fuel oil reserves are getting lower. The purpose of this research is to recycle plastic waste efficiently by pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is a chemical decomposition of organic material by the heating process without or less oxygen or other reagents.
This research uses 3 kg of LDPE plastic waste as raw material of pyrolysis, gas stove as its heater, and water as heat exchange media, and using condenser water discharge 12 LPM. The variation used in this experiment is the condenser slope angle are 0o, 15o, and 30o.
From the experiments that have been done, the results obtained for the angle 0o produce oil with a volume of 500 ml and residual ash pyrolysis weighing 315 grams. For the angle 15o produces oil with a volume of 537 ml and 167 grams of pyrolysis residual ash. While for the angle 30o produce oil with a volume of 500 ml and ash residue burning weighing 313 grams. From the results obtained it can be concluded that the most optimal angle for pyrolysis of LDPE plastic waste with the discharge of 12 LPM is a angle of 15o. With percentage of oil difference with ash is 29,1%. Oil pyrolysis of LDPE plastic waste can use to be alternative fuel because the heat value is not much different from other fuels. The biggest value of the heat transfer occurs on the corner of 15o with value of the heat transfer is 3131,129 Watt. For smallest value of the heat transfer occurs on the corner of 30o with value of the heat transfer is 1862,926 Watt.
