Abstract
Expansive soils are clay that has high swells and shrinks value, that can cause in
damage to the infrastructure on it. The technique of lime or cement or lime-cement columns
can be performed as a method of improvement on expansive soil. SiCC columns are
columns made of a mixture of microcalcium and microscopy used as one method
of expansive soil improvement. This study aims to determine the parameter values and
the deformation of plate system with rigid pavement on expansive soil reinforced with
SiCC column T-shape with head column diameter 15,24 cm with variation of column
length 70 cm and 50 cm with load 8 tons. The analysis was done by finite element method
using Abaqus 6.11 software with ground collapse analysis using Drucker-Prager model.
The modeling results show that plate system with rigid pavement on expansive soils
reinforced with SiCC column T-shape with length 50 cm have deformation value 10,76
mm. While the plate system with rigid pavement on expansive soil reinforced with SiCC
column T-shape with a length of 70 cm have deformation value 7,04 mm. The results
obtained also show that with the difference in column length, soil stiffness will be different
so that the parameter values used are also different.
