Background : Dental and oral hygiene is an important aspect to be maintained because its relationship to the general health. It can be maintained by brushing the teeth properly, so the accumulation of dental plaque can be controlled. High plaque scores will affect the condition of surrounding tissues and cause gingivitis. Furthermore, hormone levels also take a role to the occurrence of gingivitis. Female is more vulnerable to have gingivitis because of menstruation cycle. Knowledge to maintain dental and oral health can be delivered by audio-visual media that is easy to understand and remember. Purpose : To determine the influence of oral health dissemination using audiovisual media to plaque scores at Islamic Center Bin Baz Yogyakarta Boarding School (ICBB). Method : This research used experimental quasy method with pre-test and posttest design on 60 subjects 13-14 years old. Plaque scores in pre-test and post-test assessment are recorded by Plaque Index O’Leary. This studies lasted 35 days with three times dissemination repetition within 14 days interval. Data analysis using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Paired Simple T-Test. Result : Decrease the average of plaque scores from 25,06 to 8,93. The result from Paired Simple T-Test obtained p value <0,05, means that there is difference plaque scores before and after deliver the dissemination statistically. Conclusion : This study showed that audio-visual media dissemination affect plaque scores on students 13-14 years old at Salafiyah Wustha Islamic Center Bin Baz Yogyakarta Islamic Boarding School.
