Background: There are several considerations needed in determining orthodontic treatment plans such as anamnesa, clinical examination, study model analysis, study model examination, and cephalomety. Not all those data can be used as considerations to determine treatment plan because there are many influencing aspects. The study model analysis is one of the data that can be used in determining orthodentic treatment plan. Pont index and Howes index are included in the study model analysis that can be used on permanent dental period. Research Objective: This research aims to find out the conformity of treatment plan based on Pont index and Howes index with the treatment plan carried out by co-assisstant dentist in RSGM UMY. Research Methodology: This is an analytical observational research with cross sectional design. The sample of this research is 68 patient’s study model for removable orthodontic treatment from April 2016 – April 2017 in RSGM UMY. Treatment plan will be determined based on study model measurement using vernier calipers and analysed using Pont index and Howes index formula. The analysis results is adjusted to the treatment plan of co-assisstant dentist in RSGM UMY. Research Results: Based on the chi-square test, it shows that there is a significant relationship between the conformity and the treatment plan based on Pont index and Howes index, because the p value is (0,005) < 0,05. The conformity percentage between treatment plan based on Pont index and the treatment plan of co-assistant dentist is 66,2%; Howes index and the treatment plan of co-assistant dentist is 60,3%; and between Pont index, Howes index and the treatment plan of co-assistant dentist is 39,7%. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the conformity of removable orthodontic treatment plan based on Pont index and Howes index which are performed in RSGM UMY.
