Background: Caries is the main oral problems in children and adolescents, due to the lack of dental dan oral knowledge and behavior. Promotive treatment for this problem is dissemination. Dissemination can be delivered by audio-visual media that is easy to understand and remember. Purpose: To determine the influence of dissemination using audio-visual media on 13-14 years old students at Islamic Center Bin Baz Yogyakarta Boarding School (ICBB) to dental and oral knowledge and behavior. Method: This research used experimental quasy method with one group pre-test and post-test design on 60 subjects at ICBB. Pre-test and post-test assessment include fill the questionnaire before and after the dissemination. This studies lasted 35 days with three times dissemination repetition within 14 days interval. Data analysis using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Paired Simple T-Test. Result: There is an increase of knowledge average from 54,05 to 56,03, and behavior average from 58,23 to 61,42. The result retrieved from Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test obtained p value 0,000079, and Paired Simple T-Test obtained p value 0,000 (p<0,05) means that there was difference of dental and oral knowledge and behavior average before and after the dissemination was delivered. Conclusion: This study showed that audio-visual media dissemination affect dental and oral knowlegde and behavior on students 13-14 years old at Salafiyah Wustha Islamic Center Bin Baz Yogyakarta Islamic Boarding School.
