ANALISIS UJI MEKANIK HASIL SAMBUNGAN LAS GESEK (FRICTION WELDING) KAPASITAS TEKAN 5.5 Kgf/cm2
Abstract
Welding techniques are an important part in the manufacturing industry because they have a major role in developing making product technology. Friction welding is the process of connecting two pieces of material by utilizing heat generated from the presence of friction and pressure to melt the material. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the tool and the strength of the weld produced. This study uses a friction welding tool with a compressive capacity of 5.5 kgf / cm2 which produces 1450 RPM rotation for 2 minutes of welding duration with a series-1 aluminum material. After observing the test results, it can be concluded that the average value of maximum stress is 8.3 MPa, strain value is 1.56% and modulus of elasticity is 5.32 GPa, while the highest average hardness results are in the HAZ area of 7.25 HVN with increasing hardness between regions parent metal and HAZ are 3.32% while between parent metal and core area are 2.95%.
