UPAYA GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MEMBINA KEDISIPLINAN SISWA DI SD MUHAMMADIYAH BANYURADEN
Abstract
The background of the research was that discipline was one of the very important parts of education objective accomplishment. Therefore, discipline building was one of the essential foundations in forming the people in the social environment. This research was aimed at (1) to find out the discipline condition of the students in Muhammadiyah Banyuraden Elementary School (2) to find out the supporting and obstructing factors of the Islamic Education teachers in building the discipline of the students in Muhammadiyah Banyuraden Elementary School and (3) to find out the efforts of the Islamic Education teachers in building the discipline of the students in Muhammadiyah Banyuraden Elementary School.
The research used qualitative approach with descriptive method, and with the headmaster, Islamic Education teachers, and the students of class IV as the subject of the research. The data were collected from interview as the main method, and observation and documentation as supporting methods. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively.
The result showed that: (1) The discipline condition in Muhammadiyah Banyuraden Elementary School was good, observed from the number of the students that joined the school program enthusiastically. However, there were some students that were not disciplined in implementing the school program (2) the supporting factors of the Islamic Education teachers in building the discipline of the students in Muhammadiyah Banyuraden Elementary School: (a) Awareness (b) Interest and Motivation (c) Role model. Meanwhile, the obstructing factor of the Islamic Education teachers in building the discipline of the students in Muhammadiyah Banyuraden Elementary School was the lack of the awareness of the students on the importance of discipline. (3) The efforts conducted by the Islamic Education teachers in building the discipline of the students were with (a) giving awareness and (b) supervision.
