The development of Agricultural continues to be developed, one of them is the development in the plantation sector. Commodities that have great opportunities in the plantation sector are cocoa. Cocoa in Indonesia is mostly cultivated by the people. DIY is one of the provinces that develops community cocoa. The DIY government in increasing cocoa is developing cocoa plantations by making cocoa village models. This development aims to prosper farmers. The cocoa village model is a program to develop tourism villages based on cocoa plantations. This study aims to determine the level of participation of farmer members in the development of the cocoa village model and to know the factors that influence the participation of member of farmer community in cocoa village’s model development in putat village, Patuk sub-District, Gunung kidul Regency. The data was collected through observation and interview methods with the number of 55 respondents from farmer community from Sidodadi Farmers Group and Ngudi Subur Farmers Group using proportional random sampling. The data analysis techniques used in this research are scoring and rank spearman. The results of this study are the participation of the member of farmer community in coca village model development in the medium category with three stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation phase and the stage of utilization of the results. There are five factors that influence the overall participation namely the land area, the amount of cocoa owned, the role of the head of the farmer group, the intensity of counseling and government support.
