PENGARUH KOMPOSISI MINYAK NYAMPLUNG DAN MINYAK KELAPA SAWIT TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK BAHAN BAKAR DENGAN WAKTU REAKSI 30 MENIT DAN TEMPERATUR 90°C
Abstract
Vegetable oil can be used as an alternative fuel because its renewable fuel. Vegetable oil which has the potential to be used as fuel is calophyllum inophyllum oil. However, the vegetable oil has a shortage in high density and viscosity and low calorific value. One of the efforts to correct these deficiencies is by mixing callophyllum inophyllum oil and ccrude palm oil. This research aims to determine the effect of calophyllum inophyllum oil and palm oil on the physical properties of fuel.
In this study variations of calophyllum inophyllum oil mixture and crude palm oil used were, 100%: 0%, 90%:10%, 80%:20%, 70%:30%, 60%:40%, 40%:60% , 30%:70%, 20%:80%, 10%:90%, 0%:100%, with a mixing time of 30 minutes and a heating temperature of 90°C, and the physical properties tested are density, viscosity, flash point and heating value.
The results of this research are calophyllum inophyllum oil has a density of 927,956 kg/m³ and viscosity 53,666 cSt, the density and viscosity of the calophyllum inophyllum oil will increase after adding a mixture of crude palm oil, in the composition of 10:90% the density of canophyllum inophyllum oil decreases to 887,796 kg/m³ and viscosity becomes 35,954 cSt. Whereas in the flash point test and heating value, 100% calophyllum inophyllum oil has 217°C flash point and 9147.9749 cal/g heating value, flash point and the heat value of the calophyllum inophyllum oil will increase after adding a mixture of crude palm oil, in the mixture composition 10:90% flash point of calophyllum inophyllum oil increased to 288°C and heating value to 9421.0944 cal/g.
