GAMBARAN TINGKAT SPIRITUALITAS PADA PASIEN DM TIPE 2 DENGAN ULKUS DIABETES DI RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background. Diabetes mellitus is one chronic disease that can cause systemic
complications such as diabetic foot ulcer that affect patient spirituality level.
Objective: The objective of this study was to describe the level of spirituality
among patient with diabetic foot ulcer based on the demographic characteristic
including gender, age, formal education, marital status, duration of DM, severity
or grade diabetic foot ulcer and type of care in RS PKU Muhammadiyah
Yogyakarta
Method: This study was desciptif study with cross sectional approach. The
sampling technique was accidental than involved 26 responden. The Data were
collected by using Spirituality Well-Being Scale (SWBS) Indonesia version that
was valid (r=0,521-0,759) and reliable (r= 0,892). The data analyzed using
descriptive statistic.
Results: The level of spirituality among patient with diabetic foot ulcer was high
among 23 respondents (88.5%) and moderate among 3 respondents (11.5%).
The High spirituality mostly found in the those who aged from 40-60 years (16
respondents, 61.5%), womens (13 respondents, 50.0%), graduated from senior
hifh school (7 respondents, 26.9%), married (20 respondents, 76.9%), duration of
DM more than 3 years (21 respondents, 80.8%), had diabetic foot ulcer grade 1
(12 respondent, 46.2%), in- patient care (18 respondents, 69.2%).
Conclusions:Most of The patient with diabetic foot ulcer in RS PKU
Mumahammadiyah Yogyakarta have high spirituality. Nurses, health care
provider and families are expected to support the patients to maintain and
increase the patient spirituality level. Further research is needed to examin the
effect of certain program to improve patients spirituality level.
