PENGARUH HOME PHARMACY CARE TERHADAP KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI PUSKESMAS SEWON 1 BANTUL
Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that occurs when the body can not produce enough insulin and will last a lifetime so that it can affect the quality of life of the patients. The quality of life of Diabetes Mellitus patients may be affected by ongoing treatment. One of the efforts to improve the quality of life through monitoring the patients' treatment is by conducting Home Pharmacy Care (HPC). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Home Pharmacy Care on the quality of life of patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
This research used a quasi experimental design with prospective data collection method. The number of respondents in this study were 24 respondents divided into control group without Home Pharmacy Care (HPC) and intervention group with Home Pharmacy Care (HPC). Data was collected using prospective methods from September 2017 to January 2018. To measure the quality of life of DM patients, DQLCTQ (Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questionnaire) questionnaire was used. The effect of quality of life was analysed using Mann-Whitney test and Independent sample t test.
The results showed an increase in the quality of life with the score of 29,75 ± 24,05 in the intervention group with a significant increase (P <0.05) in all domains except the treatment effect domain (P = 0.600). While in the control group there was a decrease of 8.92 ± 12,57 with an insignificant decrease (P> 0.05) on all domains except the personal satisfaction domain (P = 0.025). The change in quality of life of intervention and control group was significantly different for the whole domain with p value <0.05 except the energy domain with p value of 0.501. It can b concluded that `Home Pharmacy Care to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients at Puskesmas Sewon 1 Bantul can affect patient's quality of life for the entire domain except the energy domain.
