KAJIAN PENGGUNAAN ZAT PENGATUR TUMBUH PADA PEMBENTUKAN BUAH SALAK PONDOH TANPA BIJI
Abstract
The sttdy ofparthenocarpy ]l.'as conducled by applying o plant grott'th regulator
on several horlicultural commodities- One of the pldnl groilh regulalors is auxin.
That v'as why auxih wos dpplied and used on Pondoh sallaca for partehocarp Ji'uit
setting. The experimental method used in lhis research was arranged in a conpletely
randonized design (CRD). This research consisled of three erperinenls. The frsl is
the khds (lAA and 2,4-D) and the concentrations (100, 200 and 300 ppm) of auxin
aplicalion. The second is lhe concentrations of 2,4-D (100, 200 and 300ppm)
applied on spadic ofJully and 25% opened inflorescence. And lhe lhird experimcnt
is lhe methods and the concenlralion of 2,4-D aplicalion ie. Spray method
(concentration 0,0196, 0,002% and 0,003%") ahd pastd melhod (concenlration 0,lt%,
0,2% and 0,3%). Each experiment was followed by antophogamic pollination as
control- AJter lhe applicalion, the Jlowers n'ere corered by a plastic lo prevent
natural pollination. The study resuh shou,ed that auxin application (lAA and 2,4-D)
did not produce seedless Pondoh Sollaca. However, this study produced o new
Jinding that aurin could be used as an auernalive of pollen when production of
pollen of Sallaca flower was limited. Besides, lhe auxin could also be used as a
preservative substance Ior lhe viabilily of pol len.
