      Abstract
      Free radicals are high in the body caused degenerative diseases. free radicals caused by UV radiation. Antioxidants may reduce the effects of free radicals and photoprotective agents can protect the skin from UV rays. So antioxidants and photoprotective can prevent degenerative diseases. According to the literature, phenolic compounds and flavonoids function as antioxidants and photoprotective. Peels of Red Dragon fruit contain phenolic compounds and flavonoids. This research aims to know the levels of phenolic and flavonoid in chloroform fraction of Red Dragon fruit peels (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and knowing the power of antioxidants and photoprotective. The chloroform fraction of Red Dragon peels obtained from extraction using ethanol and oil using chloroform. Phenolic levels obtained with the Folin-ciocalteu method and the levels of flavonoids obtained by chelation AlCl3 methods. the antioxidant power obtained by DPPH method and photoprotective power obtained with test method using spectrophotometry expressed in SPF values. The total content of phenolic chloroform fraction is (32.82 ± 2,931 mg GAE/g) and the content of total flavonoid chloroform fraction is (0.0001% ± 0.022 b/b EQ). The IC50 values of chloroform fraction (497,824 μg/ml) and value of SPF chloroform fraction (0.009±0.003). The chloroform fraction concentration of 5-100 mg/L does not have photoprotective activities and the antioxidant power of chloroform fraction known are weak
