ANALISA KEKUATAN UJI TARIK DAN KEKERASAN SAMBUNGAN LAS ANTARA STAINLESS STEEL 316L DAN BAJA KARBON RENDAH DENGAN VARIASI FILLER PADA PENGELASAN TIG
Abstract
In a manufacturing industry, it is sometimes necessary to integrate different types of material, in such a combination welding is needed between the two different types of material. TIG Welding (Tungsten Inert Gas) is a welding process in which electric arc arises caused by tungsten electrodes (electrodes not fed) with metal workpieces. The welding area is protected by gas protection so that it is not contaminated with outside air. The purpose of this study was to find out the suitable fillers on 316L stainless steel and low carbon steel splicing using the TIG welding method on tensile strength and hardness distribution. The study used 316L stainless steel and low carbon steel with variations of ER316L and ER70S fillers. Tensile testing uses the Sevopulser engine, while hardness testing uses the Microhardnest Vicker Tester. The highest tensile strength value is found in specimens using ER70S Filler of 410.20 MPa, while the highest hardness value is 398.1 HVN on ER70S Filler welded metal area. In accordance with the results of the study it can be concluded that the ER70S filler is more suitable to be used to connect 316L stainless steel and low carbon steel to the tensile strength and distribution of hardness
