KELAYAKAN USAHATANI CABE MERAH PADA LAHAN PASIR PANTAI DI DESA SRIGADING KECAMATAN SANDEN KABUPATEN BANTUL YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
As a result of the reduction in agricultural land, farmers utilize the sand patani
land to do farming in the coastal sand land. This study aims to determine the
costs, revenues, income, profits and feasibility of a red chilli farming in coastal
sand fields by calculating the feasibility of agribusiness. The location of this study
was in Srigading Village, Sanden Subdistrict, Bantul Regency, which was
determined intentionally because Bantul Regency had a long coastal area and
Srigading Village was the largest producer of chilli in Bantul. Data collection
techniques by means of direct interviews using a questionnaire then analyzed with
a descriptive analysis and feasibility of agribusiness. Farmers used as respondents
were 39 people taken by simple random sampling. The results of this study
indicate that red chilli farming in the village beach sand srigading is feasible,
because it is able to generate revenues that are greater than the production costs
incurred and get high profits. Cultivation of red chilli in the coastal sand area has
an additional cost for procuring equipment and fulfilling soil nutrients.
