The research aimed to analyze the cost, income, profit and feasibility of cassava UJ-5 varieties as well as the reason for the farmer choose cassava UJ-5 varieties at Gaya Baru II Village, Seputih Surabaya Sub District, Lampung Tengah Regency. The research using using the quantitative and descriptive method. The data were collected using the census method to 46 farmer of cassava UJ-5 varieties. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data were obtained by observation interview and noted. Total cost required for one planting season with land area 6.033 m2 was Rp. 12.493.830 with an income of Rp. 11.265.700 and a profit 0f Rp. 8.683.996. The cassava UJ-5 varieties farming had an R/C of 1,70. Thus, this cassava UJ-5 varieties farming is feasible because the R/C value is greater than 1. The capital productivitiy value is 88% per planting season with a loan interest rate of 2,4% per planting season, so this farming is feasible because the capital productivity is greater than the loan interest rate. The labor productivity value obtained is Rp. 613.356 per HKO, for daily wages is the research area of Rp. 60.000, then thus farming is feasible because the labor productivity is greater than the daily wages in the research area. The reason farmers choose cassava UJ-5 because the cultivation process is easier to apply compared to other varieties, cassava seeds varieties UJ-5 are easily available, cassava varieties UJ-5 are more resistant to pests and diseases, highher demand and selling prices than other varieties, families and neighbors also support farmers to cultivate of UJ-5.
