dc.description | Catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) is a type of infection caused by germs or bacteria accumulating along the length of a catheter, resulting in an infection in the bladder and kidney. One of the achievements in patient safety is being able to lower the risk of contracting CAUTI in hospitals by managing, preventing, and controlling the risk of CAUTI, namely by using CAUTI Bundle.1
Nurses on duty for 24 hours at a hospital, specifically those tasked with attending to the patients, must closely monitor if CAUTI occurs in patients who have been using a catheter for over 48 hours. The means of prevention can be administered in the urethral catheterization procedure, the caring process throughout the use of a urinary catheter, the change or removal of the urinary catheter, and monitoring for signs of infection in a patient during their treatment in a hospital | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | One of the achievements in patient safety is reducing the risk of CAUTI incidents in a hospital by managing, preventing, and controlling the risk of CAUTI. One method to achieve this is by utilizing the CAUTI Bundle. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of CAUTI prevention in the intervention group and control group after the development of the CAUTI (Post-test only) Methods: This research used a true experimental quantitative method (post-test only) and was carried out for 2 weeks through consecutive sampling. It was found that 64 respondents used urinary catheters in six inpatient rooms. These six inpatient room were divided into two groups, 3 rooms with 32 respondents were the intervention group and 3 other rooms with 32 respondents were the control group. Results: The results of the post-test implementation of CAUTI Bundle showed that in the non-parametic test results of the Mann-Whitney Test, there were significant differences between the intervention groups that were administered CAUTI Bundle and the control group, with a significance of 0.001 <0.05. Conclusion: The level of CAUTI prevention conducted by nurses in the intervention group that implemented CAUTI Bundle was different from the control group. It indicates a difference in nurse's compliance in the implementation of CAUTI prevention. | en_US |
