dc.descriptionBackground : Conjunctivitis can occur in all races, ages, genders, and social strata, and can be found throughout in the world. Based on the preliminary study on the Potrobayan Village Srihardono Pundong Bantul, some residents of both parents and their children have been infected with conjunctivitis. Medication mostly used eye drop and eye ointment without know the ingredient. The impact can be complication like cataract, glaucoma, and bacterial resistance. Therefore, researchers want to conduct research on knowledge level overview parents of children conjunctivitis in the Potrobayan Village Srihardono Pundong Bantul. Purpose : The purpose of this research was to determine the level of parental knowledge of conjunctivitis in children. Methode : The research design used quantitative descriptive approach that was research to get the overall picture of the object and subject of research. This study used purposive sampling with Slovin formula and obtained 71 respondents representing 246 parent population. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to the respondents. Result : The results showed that the respondents' knowledge level description of the 10 respondents (14.1%) had less knowledge, 48 respondents (67.6%) had moderate knowledge, and 13 respondents (18.3%) had good knowledge. Conclusion and Recommendation : The level of parental knowledge of conjunctivitis in children in the Potrobayan Village mostly moderate. Statements about conjunctivitis known by the respondents with the highest score was on the item that statement on the treatment and the lowest score was on the item statement about the cause of conjunctivitis. Recommendation for Puskesmas in Pundong can give education to family and family can give information about health.en_US
