Abstract
Teaching hospitals are an important part of the health system, also playing an important role in the medical education process. Teaching hospitals must meet the minimum quality or standards assessed through the hospital accreditation. The implementation of hospital accreditation, especially in teaching hospitals goes along with the implementation of the educational process of medical students. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of medical students on the implementation of hospital accreditation, where they were also involved in it. This study was a descriptive study with explanatory approach, while the data collection method was conducted by conducting focus group discussions with the medical students. The results of the study gave rise to various perceptions about the implementation of hospital accreditation, one of which was the emergence of perceptions of the impact of hospital accreditation on the process of medical education in hospitals. Accreditation has a positive and negative impact on the process of medical education in hospitals. This is because hospital accreditation is an additional knoeledge that is useful for students, but student involvement in hospital accreditation results in reduced student learning time at the hospital. This should be a concern for hospitals to be able to manage the involvement of medical students in the hospital accreditation without disrupting the educational process at the hospital.
