PENGARUH KOMBINASI EKSTRAK TEH DAN MADU TERHADAP ANGKA KUMAN HEPAR TIKUS YANG DIINFEKSI Escherichia coli
Abstract
Background: infectious diseases caused by Escherichia coli can be treated with
natural remedies using tea extract and honey, because the tea extract contains
catechins as anti-bacterial. While honey contains an acidic pH that can inhibit
bacterial growth.
Objective: Knowing the number of hepatic bacteria and the effective dosage of
combination tea extract and honey on rats liver that has been in the infection of
Escherichia coli.
Research Method: The study design was laboratory experimental with the post
test-only control group. This research was conducted in UGM Laboratory for 2
weeks in Februri-March 2018. The subjects of this study were white rats as many
as 30 tails, divided into 5 groups (n = 6), K1 control group negative (not infected),
group K2 positive control (infected with Escherichia coli without tea and honey
extract), P3-P5 group (given tea and honey extract 50% -50%, 75% -25%, and
25% -75%).
Result: The lowest average number of liver in the rats bacteria was infected
Escherichia coli and given 50% tea extract solution - 50% honey by 2.63 x 103
CFU/ gram. The results of One Way Anova parametric test is p <0.05. This means
that giving a combination of tea extract and honey affect the number of rats liver
germs in infections Escherichia coli.
Conclusion: The effective dose of combination of tea extract and honey that can
influence the number of hepatic bacteria in rats in Escherichia coli infection is
50% - 50%.
