MOTIVASI PETANI PADI TERHADAP USAHATANI PADI ORGANIK DI KECAMATAN BENER KABUPATEN PURWOREJO
Abstract
This study aims to determine the motivation of rice farmers toward organic rice farming, and to know the factors associated with rice farmers' motivation towards organic rice farming. The research location was in Bener Subdistrict, Purworejo Regency (purposive sampling), which is based on an area that has applied the principle of organic rice, although not yet pure. The sample in this study amounted to 104 farmers. Determination of respondents based on farmers' categories (semi-organic and conventional) was carried out in a census of 75 semi-organic farmers and 29 conventional farmers. The analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis, scoring technique, and Rank Spearman correlation analysis. The results showed (1) Motivation of rice farmers toward organic rice farming seen from the highest existence was in Bleber Village for conventional farmers including very high category with a score of 82.67%, the highest relatedness was in Ngasinan Village for conventional farmers including very high category with a score of 89.58% and the highest growth is in Legetan village for semi-organic farmers including very high category with a score of 81.73%. Overall the highest ERG motivation is in Legetan village including very high category with a score of 82.66% for semi-organic farmers. (2) Internal factors related to farmer motivation as a whole are age, formal education, non-formal education, and land area for semi-organic farmers, while for conventional farmers internal factors related to farmer motivation as a whole are age and formal education. External factors related to farmer motivation as a whole are the availability of capital, marketing, suitability of land potential, and suitability of local culture, while for conventional farmers external factors related to farmer motivation as a whole are marketing.
