EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN PASIR PANTAI SAMAS UNTUK BUDIDAYA CABAI MERAH (Capsicum annum L.) BERDASARKAN JARAK DARI GARIS PANTAI
Abstract
A research entitled "Coasal Land Suitability Evaluation on Samas Beach For The Cultivation of Red Chili Plants (Capsicum annum L.) Based on Distance From Costaline" aims to determine the characteristics of land and the suitability level of Samas coastal sand land for red chili plant in Sanden District. The research was conducted from September 2018 to Januari 2019.
The data in this research were obtained by using the survey method, the location was chosen purposively and the data were analyzed by matching method to evaluate the coastal sand land suitability and use the weight factor matcing mathod to match the caracteristics of Sanden District for red chili plants.
The results of laboratory analysis showed that the Samas costal sand land from coastaline of 250, 500, and 750 m in Sanden District was characterized as very fast soil drainage, sand texture, medium effective depth, low cation exchange capacity (CEC), medium to hight saturation base, neutral pH, very low C-Organic,salinity level of 0,6 – 0,46 mmosh/cm, moderate total N content, low to very low K content and P content was very high to low and no flood hazard.
These results showed that the actual and potential land suitability for red chili plant in the Samas coastal sand land of Sanden District had the same unit level those were Noa-1 and Nrc-1 or not suitable with limiting factors of drainage and soil texture.
