This study tries to explain why the President of the United States, Donald Trump issued tariff policies and how China responded to the tariff policy that proposed by Donald Trump. In this study discussed Donald Trump's win over Hillary Clinton. So Trump became the 45th President of the United States. which during his campaign trump voiced the slogan "Make America Great Again" and "America First". All of Trump's policy will be seen from the slogan that used by Trump. In his campaign Trump also promised to provide jobs for the American people and protection of American’s economy. He started his policy by publish Protection system which issued several tariff policies. One of Trump’s policy is the tariff policy on Chinese goods import exports. which matter will directly impact the economy of both. With this policy, there will be a trade war between the United States and China.
