HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DENGAN SIKAP KESIAPSIAGAAN BENCANA BANJIR DI MASYARAKAT DESA SRIHARJO IMOGIRI BANTUL YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background : Disaster is a threatening event and disrupts people's lives caused by natural factors, non-natural factors and social factors that result in the emergence of casualties, environmental damage, property losses and psychological impacts. Flooding is an event where water inundates an area within a certain time interval due to continuous rain which results in overflow of river water when the flow exceeds the volume accommodated. Flood prevention preparedness needed in order to reduce casualties and other losses. Awareness of the importance of preparedness can increase individual knowledge in protecting and saving themselves from danger. Attitudes and behavior in anticipating disasters are things that are influenced by knowledge, where knowledge is the most important main factor.
Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge with flood disaster preparedness attitudes in the community of Sriharjo Imogiri Bantul Yogyakarta.
Methodology: The research used quantitative methods with cross sectional approach. The respondents were 108 families in the community of Sriharjo Imogiri Bantul Yogyakarta, Data collected by ordinal scale questionnaire. The analysis techniques used are univariate and bivariate.
Results: The characteristics of the respondents majority were men with a age range of 46-55 years. The results showed the level of flood disaster preparedness knowledge and attitudes in the community in good categories and shows the results of the relationship between the level of knowledge and the attitude of flood disaster preparedness. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the attitude of flood disaster preparedness.
