PENGARUH SENAM QIGONG TERHADAP TINGKAT STRES KERJA PADA GURU
Abstract
Background. Yogyakarta which places the fifth highest level of stress in Indonesia, with a stress prevalence of 8.1%. Teachers have a big responsibility, which has the potential to experience work stress due to a little time to rest, increased teacher responsibility, lack of supporting resources. Management for work stress namely qigong exercise. Qigong Gymnastics is an exercise that coordinates body posture, uses deep breathing, meditation, mental focus and creates calm for the body and mind. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of qigong exercise on the level of work stress on the teacher.
Methodology. This research method is Pre-Experimental with one-group pre-post test design. Sampling technique with Puporsive sampling, a sample of 16 people. The test used is the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Qigong exercise is done 3 times 50 minutes in 1 week. The instrument uses qigong gymnastics videos that are exhibited by experts and work stress questionnaires.
Results. The median value before intervention was 51.00 and after intervention was 45.00. There is the influence of qigong gymnastics on the level of work stress on teachers at Godean N 2 Vocational School, with a p-value of 0.011 (<0.05).
Conclusion. Qigong exercise can reduce work stress by reducing the secretion of the hormone cortisol. The need to apply qigong gymnastics activities regularly at least 3 times 50 minutes in 1 week to get optimal results in reducing work stress.
