ANALISIS KUALITATIF DAN KUANTITATIF PARASETAMOL PADA JAMU PEGEL LINU DAN ASAM URAT DI DAERAH KOTAMADYA YOGYAKARTA MENGGUNAKAN KLT DENSITOMETERI
Abstract
Jamu is an traditional herbal medicine which is commonly used in traditional
society to prevent and help relief many common symptoms of a disease. The rising of
jamu usage in society have been misused by some jamu manufacturer by adding some
synthetic chemical excipient (adulteration) such as paracetamol to increase the efficacy
of the herbal. This research aimed to determine the appearance of paracetamol inside
the rheumatic pain and arthritis gout jamu product in Yogyakarta city and the
concentration of paracetamol.
Samples were taken randomly from many jamu outlets widespread around
Yogyakarta and the analysis was done in Laboratorium of Pharmacy Technology
Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogykarta. The method of analysis used is TLCDensitometry.
Qualitative analysis used TLC and the spot detected using UV light at
254 nm before calculating the Rf value. Quantitative analysis used densitometry by
calculating area produced by the spot on TLC plate.
The result of qualitative analysis showed that there are three of 14 samples of
jamu containing Paracetamol drug. The three samples are sample number 3, 7 and 10.
The result of quantitative analysis showed that each of the three contaminated samples
containing 0,045 %, 0,350 % and 0,148 %.
