      Abstract
      Background : Knowledge can be obtained through feeling or media that affect the conditions of human life. The MCH Handbook is a book about the health of mothers and children, that of mothers and families. The aim of this study is to determine the understanding of mothers after birth. Objectives : Find out the understanding of mothers after birth and whether there are influences between age, education, employment, and income factors when treating KIA mothers books after birth in RSUD Kota Yogyakarta. Methods : This research was conducted at RSUD Kota Yogyakarta with observation research types. The approach used in this study is cross-sectional method. Result : The results of the data analysis have shown that understanding the MCH manual for mothers after birth has a value of > 50%, which means that a good understanding and value for the factors of age, education, employment and income are greater than Alpha which is > 0.05 means no the relationship of these factors with the understanding of the KIA mothers books after birth. The investigated factors are also protective factors. Conclution : The MCH mother's book in the Yogyakarta hospital is good and has no impact on age, education, employment and income factors. This can be caused by other factors such as birth experience, health services and social environment
