      Abstract
      Life limiting illness is a life threatening desease that requires home based care. Special care that is included in home based care need a participation of family members. Family members has an important roles in caring for the family members. Patient need help from the family in completing their needs everyday so the family must have a high level of readiness. If a family has less prepared, it will impact the caregivers level f burden while caring for the family member. The purpose of this study was to find out is there a relation between family preparedness with family burden in a family who takes the charges to take for family members with life limiting illness. This study uses descriptive quantitative type with cross sectional approach. Respondents from this study amounted to 40 people, where respondents are a family member of life limiting illness patient. The sampling technique is quota sampling. Analysis of the data used is Univariate and is presented in the form of frequency and percentage and Bivariate to present the correlations between 2 variables. The results of the study showed that there is significant correlations between family preparedness with family burden as the result of p-value 0,000 and r -0,72** the negative results indicated that the 2 variables are not in the same directions that interpreted the lower level of preparedness, the higer burden of the family.
