ABSTRACT Conversion of agriculture land use to non agricrtlture has close link with the life of peasant, as the majority* offarmers used land as source of livelihood activities. Since the land use changed, the peasant acnally faced the dilemma-that elicits a certain tesponse. This study qims to describe the response offarmers, seen from attiludes and behaviar; and to analyze the relationship benveen the profile of peasants with theirs attitude lowards lqnd conversion. The research u,as conducted in Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bonftil, taking 6a peasant as respondent thal were selected proporlional randomized. The primory data was collected by interview, and analyzed descriptively to determine the altitude and peasants profile. While Rank Spearrnan was used lo analyze lhe corelations befiveen the peasant profilewith theit" attitude. The result showed that the most of peasants have good information about land convertion, it is mean iudgingfrom the cognitive aspect the peasants have good atlitude. In contrast, most ofthe peasant dislike with the land convercion, sa it can sa,v that iudgingfront the affeclive aspecl the peasqnts have bad attitude. Based on Rank Spearman analysis, il can be proved thal the peasant has ))ounger age, higher edttcation, and higher income, has better attitude judging from cognitif aspect. Meanwhile, there is no significant corelation between profil with the attitude, judgingfrom alfective aspect.
