PENGARUH KONSENTRASI DAN LAMA PERENDAMAN KNO3 PADA PEMATAHAN DORMANSI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERKECAMBAH BENIH KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
Abstract
A study was conducted to determine the effecticity of concentration and
soaking time of KNO3 on breaking dormancy on the ability to germinate oil palm
seeds (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.). The research was carried out a experimental
field faculty of agriculture Muhammadiyah university of Yogyakarta from October
to November 2018. This research used an experimental method with a completely
randomized design (CRD) with one factor and 3 replications. The treatment was
KNO3 with each concentration equal to 0,2%, 0,4% and 0,6% with soaking time
12 hours, 18 hours and 24 hours. Parameter observed were germination, speed of
growing seeds, radicular length, plumula length, leaf dry weight and leaf area.
This results showed that the concentration of KNO3 with a concentration 0,6% of
immersion time of 18 hours obtained a germination value of 93,33% and the
speed of growing seeds on the 0,98% (day).
