UJI EFEKTIVITAS PESTISIDA EKTRAK TANAMAN PINANG (Areca catechu) UNTUK PENGENDALIAN HAMA WERENG BATANG COKLAT (Nilaparvata lugens S.) PADA TANAMAN PADI
Abstract
BPH is a major pest of rice crops were attacked by sucking the rice plant tissue fluids. Control is usually done by farmers using pesticide materials.The use of persistent pesticides are very dangerous to human health and the environment, so necessary to find an alternative that is more environmentally friendly. This study aims to get the parts and the betel plant extract concentrations effective in controlling brown planthopper rod. The research was conducted from July to October 2018, in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture Protection and Green House Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The study was conducted using an experimental method with single factor experimental design is arranged in completely randomized design with three replications. The treatments tested are areca seed extract at a concentration of 10%, 20%, 30%, betel leaves with a concentration of 15%, 25%, 35%; pesticide imidacloprid and no pesticides are used as a comparison. The results showed Award ekstak 10% betel nut and betel leaves 15% have been effective in controlling brown planthopper rod with a mortality rate of 83.33%. Nut plant extract had no negative effect on the growth of rice plants, as a nut extracts can be used as an organic pesticide in rice cultivation to control brown planthopper.
