PERSEPSI MURID SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI TLOGO DAN SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI KARANGJATI DI KASIHAN BANTUL YOGYAKARTA YANG TIDAK MEROKOK ATAS PERILAKU MEROKOK
Abstract
Background : Information from the Ministry of Health about the general conditions, potential, and problems regarding smoking in Indonesia is one of the Ministry of Health's strategic goals to improve disease control by reducing the prevalence of smoking, especially at the age of ≤ 18 years 7.2% in 2013 to 5.4% in 2019. One way to reduce its prevalence is to prevent smoking as early as possible. So, we need to know the perceptions of elementary school students regarding smoking behaviour.
Objective : To explore the perceptions of Tlogo Elementary School and Karangjati Elementary School students who do not smoke to smoking behaviour.
Research Method : This study used a mixed method research that using a sequential explanatory strategy which is in the first used a quantitative method as a screening to determine the appropriate respondent and in the second used a qualitative method as a deepening of the first step. This research was conducted at the Tlogo Elementary School and Karangjati Elementary School in September 2018 to December 2018. Quantitative data was taken from 276 students through questionnaires and qualitative data was taken from 32 students through interviews. The analysis in this study used a thematic analysis. Result : In this study there were 45 codes, 13 categories, and 3 themes, namely many losses, external influences, feelings to protect themselves. Conclusions : Perceptions of Tlogo Elementary School and Karangjati Elementary School students who do not smoke to smoking behaviour raises three themes, namely many losses, external influences, feelings to protect themselves.
