PERBANDINGAN KAYU MANIS DAN KOPI PUTIH TERHADAP PERUBAHAN WARNA RESIN AKRILIK POLIMERISASI PANAS
Abstract
Background : Denture is a prosthesis that replaces part of the tooth or entirely lost and in the surrounding tissue. Indonesian people consume drinks such as cinnamon and coffee. The chemical content found in cinnamon essential oils is tannin, eugenol, calcium oxalate, safrol, cinnamaldehyde and flavonoid content. The chemical components in coffee are amino acids, caffeine, chlorogenic acid, organic acids, trigonelin, carbohydrates, fats, aroma of volatine and minerals. Tanin is a yellowish-white substance to light brown. Objective : To determine the ratio of changes in cinnamon and white coffee to discoloration of hot acrylic polymerization resins. Research Methods : This type of research is an experimental laboratory, 30 samples of acrylic resin plates were used as samples. Acrylic resin plates are divided into 3 groups, namely: (1) Acrylic resin plate soaked in white coffee solution, (2) Acrylic resin plate soaked in cinnamon solution, (3) Acrylic resin plate soaked in saliva as control soaked in 2.5 days at room temperature. Research Results : This study showed there were discoloration in cinnamon and white coffee. Mann Whitney test results The Mann Whitney test results in table III show the value of p = 0.650. this shows that there is no significant difference between immersion using cinnamon and white coffee because the value of p> 0.05. Conclusion : There were no significant changes between the group of cinnamon and white coffee to the discoloration of the heat polymerization acrylic resin.
