      Abstract
All iving thing on earth needs water and the needs of living things for water vary by what kind of living thing itself. Like human who neeeds water to fullfill their thirst and clean themselves. Time passes, water become contamined by waste caused by humans and it can be dangerous. Therefore, this study purposed to make innovation by making simple water treatment instrument using the method of coagulation-floccuation, sedimentation, and filtration. This instrument is using baffled channel flocculators type vertical flow (over and under) model for coagulation-flocculation methods, dams for sedimentation methods, and shell charcoal combined with palm fiber for filtration methods. The sample water that has been obtained is tested by passing through each segment then the water from the result is measured by turbidity, total dissolved solid (TDS), total suspended solid (TSS), and temperature. This instrument model was chosen because it was simple one, also the tools and materials were easy to obtain but were able to provide good result. The results of this study show that the turbidity value decreased from 131 NTU in the inlet to 22 NTU in the 0th minute, 19 NTU in the 10th minute, 32 NTU in the 20th minute, and 44 NTU in the 30th minute. TDS levels increased from 118 mg / L in the inlet to 158 mg / L at 0th minute, 121 mg / L at 10th minute, 160 mg / L at 20th minute, and 211 mg / L at 30th minute. The test results for total suspended solid (TSS) decreased in the coagulation-flocculation segment by 21.66 mg, in the sedimentation segment by 14.89 mg, and filtration by 8.65 mg. The temperature during the test remains at 26 ℃.
