“The thesis idea from lecturers in Electrical Engineering Study Program at Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is often offered to students through social media forum or instant messaging. Thesis ideas offered through social media forums or instant messaging can be quickly covered by other topics. Students who are interested to take the idea of a thesis also have to directly contact the lecturer. To overcome this problem, an Android-based thesis idea-taking system was built to help students get thesis idea information and take thesis ideas from lecturers. The development of application for taking this thesis idea is done by the waterfall method. Using this method, the application development will be more organized. Development of this android-based application uses the Java Code programming language with Mesosfer as a database of all data.
