Periodontal disease has ranked second out of the other major diseases, by which it has been problematic in Indonesian societies that many periodontitis researches have been increasingly developed. Ligation is one of the most used methods in inducing periodontitis on animal experiments. This research aims to find out the decline rate of alveolar bone in periodontitis induced using ligation method. This research was an experimental laboratory with control group design, thirty Wistar mice were divided into 5 groups, including control group, and ligation treatment group, which involves group 1 (7 days), 2 (14 days), 3 ( 21 days, and 4 (28 days). The decline rate of the alveolar bone measurement was done through linear measurement using caliper sliding on the incisal until the alveolar crest. The data analysis result used ANOVA test, resulting in p>0,05, thus can be interpreted that there is no significant alveolar bone declining rate in the periodontitis induced by ligation method.
