This research wants to analyze how the representation of harmonious family in the comedy soap opera “Tetangga Masa Gitu” on Net TV. The aim of this study is to examine the representation of harmonious family that described through the daily lives of two pairs of families who are the main characters in that comedy soap opera. The theoretical framework in this study is including about the representation in the media, harmonious family, and comedy soap operas as media representation a semiotics. The method that used in this study is a semiotic method with data analysis techniques. The namely is semiotics John Fiske which refers to three levels, that is level of reality, level of representation and level of ideology. The result of this study is showing the representation of harmonious family in the comedy soap opera “Tetangga Masa Gitu” can be identified into three. First is the composition of harmonious family in body gesture and dialogue that shows harmony between men and women in the family. Second is the role of husband and wife in the family which includes expression, dialogue, and gesture that strengthen the role of each male and female in the family. The third is solving problems in the family which includes the process of solving problems in the family and dialogue that are supporting attributes.
