STRATEGI GURU BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING DALAM MENANGGULANGI KENAKALAN SISWA
Abstract
The research aimed at learning the types of student delinquency, the implementation of guidance and counseling and the strategies used by guidance and counseling teachers in handling student delinquency at SMP Muhammadiyah Kasihan.
The research used qualitative approach and the type of the research is descriptive. The data collecting techniques of the research are intervoew, observation, and documentation. The subjects of the research were guidance and counseling teachers, teachers in classes, students, and the peers of the students who commit delinquency.
The research result are: (1) The types of student delinquency at SMP Muhammadiyah Kasihan are lacking discipline in learning and commiting ethical, moral, and social deviations. (2) The implementation of guidance and counseling at SMP MuhammadiyahKasihan includes group guidance program in which several students are gathered and given instructions and advices. Then, one or two students are asked to step in front of the class and are given specific instructions and advices. This is done in order to show examples that the deviation done by the students are disadvantages for themselves and others. (3) The strategies of guidance of counseling teachers in handling student delinquency are through giving punishment and advices, inviting parties from outside the school, approaching the cause and the type of delinquency, decreasing students’ points, giving consultation by phone and inviting the parents to school.
