ANALISIS SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK HASIL PENGECORAN PARON BESI DENGAN VARIABEL CETAKAN PASIR (SAND CASTING)
Abstract
The use of printed material in cast products has its own characteristics and characteristics. These properties are very influential on the quality of cast, cast defects and hardness values of this study aims to determine the physical and mechanical properties of parons using nodular cast iron with variable sand mold (Sand Casting), it is necessary to test the material using test specimens (specimens test). The method used in physical analysis, namely microstructure testing, and the method used in mechanical analysis, namely impact testing, charpy and hardness, brinell. The material used is FCD 40 cast iron. After conducting Brinell hardness research on test specimens printed using dry sand mold, the average value was 285.71 BHN, while the test specimens printed using wet sand (Green Sand Mold) ) get an average value of 248.45 BHN. The results of the observation of the microstructure of the observation using a 100x magnification lens showed that the microstructure consisted of perlite, ferrite and graphite nodules. For graphite FCD, the average shape is round, the round shape is caused by being influenced by the elements contained in it such as Si and Mg, this round graphite shape as the cause of this FCD is superior to other cast iron. In the impact test, charpy specimens printed using Dry Sand Mold obtained an average value of 160,000 J / m2, while specimens printed using wet sand (Green Sand Mold) received an average value of 145,000 J / m2.
