There is a lot of vocabulary that has the same meaning In Japanese language such as abunai, kiken, and yabai. Thus, a research which analyzes the meaning of three words is needed. The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of abunai, kiken, yabai and their similarity and differences. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the meaning of abunai, kiken, and yabai. Data were obtained by observation and noted method. The results of this research are from 60 data that collected, abunai, kiken, and yabai have the same meaning and could replace each other in a Japanese sentence. However. There is still the differences such as yabai that has expansion of meaning could not be replaced by abunai and kiken. Another difference is politeness level or formality level among those words. Yabai is considered not polite enough and more informal, therefore the application must follow by situation such as moment and interlocutors.
