dc.description.abstract | This study aims to describe the use of Storybird by English Education Department students to learn English. Also, it was to find out the advantages and challenges faced by students when using Storybird in learning English. It also wished to explore how students overcame the challenges when using Storybird. To accomplish the objectives of this study, the researcher conducted a qualitative design. The data were obtained from interviews with three English students as the participants in a private university of Yogyakarta. The three participants were two males and one female batch 2015. The findings revealed that there were four advantages that the students got when using Storybird, namely that Storybird increasing creativity, training students reading skills, training students writing skills, and Storybird features were understandable. There were seven challenges namely bad internet connection, application errors, unfamiliar with the features, limited pictures, lack of technical support, the need for high imagination, and inability to improve oral skills. In addition, the study found several ways to overcome the challenges faced by students such as looking for a good internet connection, changing the password and refreshing the application, asking teachers and friends, doing self-study, and working in groups. | en_US |
