| dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, tourism places require people to be ready with international tourist. Regarding the issue, there is a community that provide some volunteers in order to help people in the tourism village to learn English. The present research aims to discuss the strategies implemented by the volunteers of Desa Bahasa dan Wisata Tayuban to enhance the residents’ English speaking skill and the challenges faced by the volunteers of Desa Bahasa dan Wisata Tayuban to enhance the residents’ English speaking skill. This research adopted qualitative research and provide qualitative descriptive as a research design. Interview and observation were employed as the data collection techniques. The study involved two teacher volunteers that teach residents in the village. The study revealed that ten teaching strategies were implemented by the volunteers namely, kinesthetic activities, speaking practice, vocabularies enrichment and writing activities prior to speaking, storytelling, giving motivation, preparation of other plans, applying circumlocution, brainstorming, improving grammar, and using fillers. Moreover, the volunteers faced three challenges in teaching English for speaking including situation and condition, low self-efficacy, and low students’ participation. | en_US |
